The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations place duties on clients to ensure that competent persons are employed on construction projects. Planning Supervisors are qualified Health and Safety Advisers, with significant experience within these sectors.

Duties include the following:

• Co-ordination and assessment of the Designers and Engineering Design Consultants - provision of advice on all aspects of health and safety at the design stage
• Assessment of competence for Principal Contractors Preparation of the Pre-tender (Stage 1) Health & Safety Plan
• Approval of the Construction Phase (Stage 2) Health & Safety Plan
• Assessment of Contractor's Method Statement and Designer's Risk Assessments
• Submission of form F10 to the local HSE
• Co-ordination and compilation of information for the Health & Safety File
• General advice on all health and safety matters during the project
